Deanne "Dee" Salyards

Deanne L. “Dee” (Bloom) Salyards, 74 of Wyomissing, passed away January 10, 2023 at Reading Hospital.  Born in Johnstown, PA on November 16, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Ruth (McCoy) Bloom. She was also the daughter of her foster mother Betty Mabon.  Deanne was the wife of James (Art) Salyards, married for 52 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Scott Salyards, husband of Robin Salyards, West Lawn and Heather Ambrose, wife of Chris Ambrose, Winfield, PA; grandchildren Brendan Salyards, Kai Ambrose, Kendall Ambrose; sisters Sally Hill/Ronald, Darlene Delano/Oscar, Eileen Bosinec/Richard, Ellen Sink/Ronald, Alice Gray/Floyd; sisters-in-law Linda Bloom, Darla Bloom; brother-in-law Robert Salyards/Annette; and many nieces and nephews and good friends.

Preceded in death by parents, foster mother, brothers Edward Bloom and John Bloom, father-in law Arthur Salyards and mother in-law Lois Salyards.

Deanne was retired from MetEd since 2009.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with her grandkids and with family and friends. She enjoyed volunteering at the Wilson Area Food Pantry and the Reading Museum.  She was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church, Skyline Drive Corvette Club, Spring Seniors, MetEd retirees club, and Spring Township Women’s Club.  For the last four years, she enjoyed being a member of the Rock Steady Boxing program for Parkinson’s at Body Zone.

Memorial Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608 on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2:00pm. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
