Dean Schappell

Dean Richard Schappell, 54, passed away May 19, 2021 in Reading, PA.  He was born June 23, 1966 in Reading, PA to Richard Arlan Schappell and Marilyn Elizabeth (Mantz) Schappell.  He lived in Hamburg, PA for most of his life and attended Hamburg Area High School. Dean loved sports, football in particular, especially his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. From a very young age, influenced by his dad’s love of music and playing guitar, Dean was a huge fan of classic rock and enjoyed attending concerts.  He was generous with his time in helping people in any way he could.

Dean is survived by son, Cody Snyder of Hamburg, sister, Kathy Ballick of Sinking Spring, aunt and uncle, Margo & Roger Schappell of Littleton, CO, and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, and sister, Colleen Schappell.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 27 at West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave., West Lawn, PA.  Visitation at 10 AM; Memorial Service at 11 AM; and a luncheon after the service in the church’s social hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to West Lawn United Methodist Church for their Feeding & Sheltering Mission Fund.  Funeral arrangements have been made by Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Sinking Spring, PA.
