David Walters

David E. Walters, 75, of Reading, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 2:30 pm in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Beatrice M. (Jacobs) Walters. Born in Reading, Mr. Walters was the son of the late Arlington E. and Catherine (Hermann) Walters. He attended Christ Lutheran Church in Reading and was employed by Parish Division of Dana Corp as a utility operator for 34 A� years retiring February 1, 1998. Mr. Walters was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed encouraging others to participate and learn the sport. He enjoyed being involved in his grandchildren's activities and vacationing with his family. In addition to his wife Mr. Walters is survived by his daughters Diane L. Franken, wife of Leon C. Franken of Sinking Spring and Donna L. Heiden, wife of Robert P. Heiden of West Lawn along with his grandchildren Jessica L. Batdorf, wife of Gabriel M. Batdorf; Nicole C. Dalickas, wife of Michael A. Dalickas; Kyle R. Heiden and Sean D. Heiden, and his great grandchildren Hunter Jacob Batdorf and Kassidy Christine Batdorf. Also surviving is his sister Patricia Warunek, wife of Eugene Warunek of Mission, Texas and was preceded in death by his step mother Ethel (Wunsch) Hoffman, brother Lester M. Walters and sister Sharon E. Heim.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 9:00 am. Reverend Katie E. Lyon will officiate. Interment will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday 8:00-9:00 am.
