David A. Tolson, 66, of Spring Twp., passed away September 16, 2008 at 9:45 PM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where he was a patient for 2 weeks. He was the husband of Phyllis J. (Warner) Tolson. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Laura N. (Norman) Tolson of Honeybrook and the late Joseph E. Tolson.
He was a 1959 graduate of Palmyra High School and a 1964 graduate of Millersville University with degrees in education and history.
He was employed as a history teacher at the former West Reading High School from 1964 until 1970 and later was the food safety manager at Maier's Bakery from 1975 until 2002.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a daughter, Renee L. (Tolson) wife of John J. Trapanotto of Sinking Spring, a son Matthew B. Tolson of San Luis Obispo, CA, 2 grandchildren Kaitlin and Madison, and a sister Nancy J. (Tolson) Wissmann of Morgantown. He was predeceased by a brother Robert J. Tolson in 1949.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Rev. Phillip Keevil will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements.
