David F. Tezak, 78, of Reading, passed away Saturday April 24, 2021 in the Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Patricia Tezak who passed away December 27, 2020 with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Louis P. Tezak and Mary B. (Bregar) Tezak Sable and a stepson of the late Carl Sable.
Mr. Tezak was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber in Pottstown for 17 years and later as a custodian by the Reading School District for 19 years prior to retiring. He was a member of Kenhorst Fire Co., Sokols, 18th Ward Democratic Club, American Legion, a life member of VFW Post 6150 Sinking Spring, a life member of US Intrepid CV CVA CVS-1l where he was crew member 4689. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and served at the time of the blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He served on the Intrepid CVA 11 and on the Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA-42. In 1959 he was a starting fullback for Reading High School Football team. Mr. Tezak enjoyed Reading High football and basketball and going to the casino.
Surviving are his daughter Tiffany Tezak of Kenhorst, and three nephews; Louis J. Tezak, Jr.; Manning Tezak, wife of Shawn Tezak; and Jason Tezak.
Funeral Services will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:00pm. Chaplin Brad Haws will officiate. Interment with US Navy Military Honors will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Friday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.
