David L. Hullinger

David L. Hullinger, 75, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 in The Reading Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of his beloved wife, Linda S. (Spatz) Hullinger for 49 years.  Born in West Reading, Mr. Hullinger was the son of the late Leonard W. and Charolette C. (Olczewski) Hullinger.  In addition to his wife, Mr. Hullinger is survived by his children Aaron David Hullinger fiancé of Sarina Gantkowski of Birdsboro and Rachel L. Cook of Manheim and his grandsons Elijah David Cook and Cohen I. Cook. He was a 1966 graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Penn State University.  Mr. Hullinger served in the United States Air Force from 1968-1972 during the Vietnam Era in Italy and Japan and also enjoyed traveling to other parts of the world, especially Europe and Asia.  He was a designer employed by Gilbert Associates for 20 years as well as AT&T, Technicon Enterprises, Gary Warner Architects and Davis Design and Engineering. He took pride in his architectural and engineering knowledge and designed and built a custom solar home for his family in the 1980’s. David enjoyed playing electric bass for 50 years in various bands both nationally and internationally, such as Vic & the Catalinas, Messiah, Scotch & Soda, Hipshot, No Strings Attached and Dave Mell Blues Band. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and most of all, spending time with this family. He was also known for his great sense of humor and one of a kind jokes. Any interaction with him, left a smile on your face. 
Memorial Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Friday, January 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm.  Reverend John Dawson will officiate.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory Friday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
