Darrah Schlegel

Darrah Hall Schlegel, 62, of Exeter Township, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 in Rehoboth, Delaware. She was the wife of Todd W. Schlegel. Born in Norristown, Mrs. Schlegel was the daughter of the late John T. and Margaret (Mardi) Hall. She enjoyed her time being by the water at Rehoboth Beach and being with family and friends. She was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and received her bachelor's degree in education and master's degree in guidance counseling from Kutztown State College. During her time at Kutztown State, she was a cheerleader and a member of Delta Beta. She began her teaching career as an elementary teacher. She continued as a guidance counselor with the Conrad Weiser School District and served as the director of Federal grants and programs with the Reading School District, where she retired in 2014. Mrs. Schlegel was a member of Pennside Presbyterian Church and she was also a member of Eastern Star, served on the Exeter Community Library board, and the Kutztown Alumni Association board. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Elizabeth M. Schlegel, fiancAC. of William E.L. Howard of West Chester and Jonathan H. Schlegel of Phoenixville. Also surviving is her step mother Pauline Hall of Wyomissing; step brother David Snyder, husband of Kathy Snyder of Oley and step sister Kate Risser, wife of Andrew Risser of Muhlenberg Township.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 am. Reverend David J. Duquette will officiate. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Tuckerton. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Monday 9:00-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Children's Home of Reading, 1010 Centre Ave. Reading, PA 19601 or Exeter Community Library, 4569 Prestwick Drive, Reading, PA 19606 in memory of Mrs. Darrah Hall Schlegel.
