Darlene Chelius

Darlene M. Chelius, 82, formerly of Reading and Wyomissing, passed away April 25, 2011 at 12:13 AM in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center where she resided since March 18th. She was the wife of Thomas H. Chelius who passed away November 14, 1984. Born in Reading on October 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ralph I. and Elsie M. (Emerich) Wolf.

Darlene was a 1946 graduate of Reading High School. She was employed for more than 30 years by C.D. Schneck Inc. Fuel Oil, last working as Vice President of Finance until her retirement.

Surviving are a daughter Joanne L. (Chelius) wife of Frank W. Vogel of West Chester; a son Steven T. Chelius companion of Sandra L. Leffler of Reading; 2 grandchildren Kelly J. (Irrgang) Scott and Lauren N. (Irrgang) Gammache; 2 step grandchildren Sean M. Vogel and Jamie M. Vogel and 5 great grandchildren. Darlene was predeceased by a sister Hazel A. Schneck.

Darlene was a member of the Class of 1946 Reunion Committee of Reading High School, a longtime Board Member of Muhlenberg Swim Club and a volunteer for the Women's Exchange in West Reading.
