Daniel G. Ebbert, 83, of The Highlands at Wyomissing, passed away April 27, 2011 at 11:50 PM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center shortly after arrival. He was the husband of M. Virginia (Rahn) Ebbert. Born in Biglerville on December 22, 1927, he was the son of the late Albert Everett Ebbert and the late Anna Margaret (Shook) Ebbert.
Mr. Ebbert was a 1947 graduate of Biglerville High School, a 1952 gradate of Gettysburg College and was awarded the Chartered Life Underwriter designation by The American College in 1970. He served in the US Navy during peacetime. He was employed by Lutheran Brotherhood as a General Agent from 1955 until 1995. He was the President of the Reading Association of Life Underwriters 1966-1967, President of Reading Chapter of Chartered Life Underwriters in 1990, President of Reciprocity Club in 1957. He was an active member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, having served as President of the Church Council. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Lutheran Home at Topton 1992-1995. He served as the Chairman of the Board of The Highlands at Wyomissing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Timothy Austin Ebbert of Wyomissing and a daughter Susan Rae (Ebbert) Wambaugh of Shillington, 2 grandchildren Benjamin M. Wambaugh and Abigail V. Wambaugh and a sister Louise (Ebbert) Little of Gettysburg. He was predeceased by brothers Arthur J. G. Ebbert, Albert S. Ebbert, and James C. Ebbert, and sisters Sarah J. (Ebbert) Biesecker and Eleanor M. (Ebbert) Guschel.
