Costel N. "Nick" Potcovaru, 48, of Wernersville, passed away May 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family in Penn State M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was the devoted husband of Kimberly A. (Ferenchick) Potcovaru for 21 years.
Born in Alexandria, Teleorman, Romania, he was the son of Ioana (Cancea) Potcovaru of Romania and the late Traian Potcovaru.
He studied Philosophy and History at the University of Bucharest before becoming a political refugee and eventually immigrating to the US. He became an American citizen in 1999. Nick was a talented poet and author, publishing the novel Dust in the Wind based on his experience as a dissident in the 1989 Romanian Revolution. He was also an accomplished entrepreneur, welcoming many to his coffee shops, Perks Coffee in Trappe, PA and Designer Beans in Wernersville.
Surviving in addition to his wife Kim is his son Alexander J. Potcovaru, a junior at Georgetown University, and his sister Mariana Dan of Madrid, Spain.

Services will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 6:00pm, Rev. Paul L. Jones officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends 4:00-6:00pm.
