Cosmo V. DeMaio

Cosmo V. DeMaio, 84, of Caernarvon Township, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:20 pm in his residence. He was the husband of Margaret (Gooding) DeMaio. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Cosmo was the son of the late Pasquale and Theresa (Tommasino) DeMaio. He was a member of the Church of Saint Benedict, Mohnton and served in the United States Army National Guard. He was a graduate of Pace University in New York City graduating with a degree in Accounting and served as an Insurance Underwriter for the Hartford Insurance Group for 32 years until his retirement. Cosmo’s grandchildren were the center of his world and they adored their “Coszy”. In their younger years, he enjoyed showing them how to plant sunflowers and watch them grow taller than they were! Mr. DeMaio loved all animals, enjoyed riding his John Deere Mower and caring for his yard. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Cheryl T. DeMaio Shalgian, wife of Christian D. Shalgian of Germantown, Maryland; Michael R. DeMaio of Wilmington, North Carolina and his grandchildren Margie, Peter, Julie, Ellie. Cosmo was preceded in death by his brother Patrick N. DeMaio (fondly known as Deke). 

Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
