He is also survived by his step-daughter, Taryn Karas, who resides in Exeter Township with her husband, Jeffrey Karas; his grandchildren, Nora and Caleb Molyneaux; and his step-grandchildren, Kyla and Jeffrey Karas. Clem is survived by his brother, Stephen Page of Maine, and was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Page.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Clemson (Clem) was the son of the late Clemson North Page, Sr. and Nancy Jean (Strellinger) Page. In his youth Clem attended Haverford School and later became a 1967 graduate of Dartmouth College, where he majored in English. Favorite activities included rowing on the Connecticut River, singing in the glee club, and building lifelong friendships through his fraternity Alpha Theta Phi. Following college, Clem worked as a reporter for the now defunct Philadelphia Bulletin and proudly served his country as a Lt. Commander in the United States Navy. Following active duty, Clem continued his service for many years as a member of the US Naval Reserve. Clem earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova Law School in 1977, after which he and his family moved to the Reading area to begin his career as an attorney. During his legal career, Clem was a partner at the law firms of then Bingaman, Hess, Coblentz & Bell and later Austin, Boland, Connor & Giorgi. Later, he established his independent Law Office.
Clem had a passionate keen interest in literature, language, and music. He was a longtime member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, where he attended services and sang in the choir for many decades. He particularly enjoyed promoting and participating in Scottish arts and over the years played his bagpipes with several area pipe bands, including the former Cairngorm Pipe Band, the Hawk Mountain Highlanders, and the former Washington Memorial Pipes and Drums. Clem was an avid reader, writer, and an aspiring novelist. In 2007, he published his first and only novel, Up Home Steadman, set in Northern Pennsylvania’s coal mining country, the history, economy, and geography of which he investigated deeply. He followed this in 2013 with Appearances of Impropriety, a collection of semi-autobiographical short stories. Clem also enjoyed military history and learning languages and loved being the life of the party.
