Clara M. Meals, 91, of Maidencreek Twp., passed away on December 22, 2015 at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy (Ochocki) Rhein.
Clara, along with her late husband, was the owner of Wahl's Food Market of Reading where she worked for over 20 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, attending bus trips, bowling, and watching the Philadelphia Phillies.
She was predeceased by her husbands: Stewart Wahl and William Meals and brothers: David Rhein and Timothy Rhein.
She is survived by her children: Thomas Fletcher, husband of Barbara Adams of Seaford, DE; Martin Wahl, partner of Morris Shapiro of St. Pete, FL; Rebecca Blandford, partner of George Basos of Owego, NY; Susan Wahl, partner of Dennis Fry of Dryville; and Robert Wahl, husband of Luanne Fox of Maidencreek Twp., 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Siblings: Charles Rhein, Doris Pfleger, Alice Kauer, Elwood Rhein, Gertrude Reeser, and Robert Rhein.
A service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, N16th. And Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10-11:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Allentown, PA 18109.
