Clara J. Matz, 87, of Bradenton, FL passed away June 29, 2016.
Born in Richmond, VA on December 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Allen and Clara (Robertson) Jones.
She graduated from Farmville High School, Farmville, VA, in 1946, attended Montreat College, Montreat, NC and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia, School of Nursing in 1950.
Clara was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, FL. and served multiple terms as a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church, Reading, PA. She was a member of P.E.O. for 39 years.
Clara is survived by her husband, Dr. Perry Marshall Matz, of 65 years and three children: Margaret A. Copley, of Bradenton, FL., Perry Marshall Matz, Jr. of Greenville, SC and Nancy M. Hulsey of Dallas, TX. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at the Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring on July 9, 2016, at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:30-11:00AM. The internment will follow the service at Pleasant View Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in the near future at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, FL.
