Christine Maslar

Christine A. Maslar, 83, a resident at Sacred Heart Villa, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 3:30 am. She was the wife of the late John J. Maslar who passed away September 14, 2005. Born in Reading, Mrs. Maslar was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Elizabeth (Kollar) Latshaw. She was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church and a graduate of Central Catholic High School. Mrs. Maslar was a secretary at Car Tech and a baker for the Governor Mifflin School District. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society; Kenhorst Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; Slovak Catholic Sokols Wreath 155 and loved humming birds. Mrs. Maslar is survived by her children Linda S. Maslar of Muhlenberg Township; John J. Maslar, companion of Rose McDonald of Flying Hills and Matthew J. Maslar, husband of Julianne M. Maslar of Douglassville. She was a loving grandmother who adored her two beautiful granddaughters Megan Maslar, loving companion of Mark Reeser and Alicia Maslar, fiancAC. of Joshua Koble. Mrs. Maslar is also survived by her sister Vivian Marnelli of Laureldale and was preceded in death by her brother Robert "Spike" Latshaw, husband of Patricia Latshaw of Reading and her sister Doris Marinello.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church 449 South 6th Street, Reading Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 9:30 am. Reverend David Kozak, Celebrant and Reverend John Schweikert, MSC will Concelebrate. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church Thursday 8:30-9:15 am.
