Charles Wertz

Charles E. Wertz, 68, of South Heidelberg Township, passed away November 1, 2010 at 6:00 pm in The Reading Hospital & Medical Center. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Mieczkowski) Wertz. Born in Reading he was the son of the late Brook T. and Jeannette E. (Seaman) Wertz. Mr. Wertz was a custodian for the Reading School District for 30 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandson, was an avid golfer, Phillies fan and enjoyed race cars. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Lori K. Kempisty of Ephrata, grandson, Alexander S. Kempisty, sisters, Carol K. wife of Foster Hafer of Reading, Elizabeth E. Vogel of Reading, Ruth E. wife of Richard Sfingas of Sinking Spring, brother Carl B. Wertz of Temple and was preceded in death by William F. Wertz and Doris M. Krick.
