Charles Reinoehl, Jr.

Charles Leroy Reinoehl, Jr., 90, died peacefully in his sleep at the Reading Hospital on December 15, 2021, with his family by his side.  Born at home in Reading on August 13, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles Sr. and Emaline Reinoehl.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jacqueline A. (Clauser), Sinking Spring, daughters Donna R. Napoli (Salvatore), Mt. Penn, Lori A. Wagner (Kent), Reno, and grandson, Jacob S. Brichta (Haley Meyers), Indianapolis.  He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brothers Henry, Robert, George and Curtis, and his sister Marian Lausch.

Charlie was educated in the Reading School District and was drafted into the US Navy at the tail end of the Korean Conflict, becoming a “Tin Can Sailor” on the USS Cony (destroyer).  After the Navy, he worked at Beaumont, Heller and Sperling for 20 years followed by 15 years at Carpenter Technology Corporation.  During his career at Beaumont, he was also the co-owner of C&C Beverage.

Charlie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Mt. Penn, since 1958 where he served as an usher and bell ringer.

Charlie bowled for 50 years with his brothers and cousin, C.J. Smith (who also sponsored the team).  He enjoyed vacationing at the Delaware and New Jersey beaches and traveling to DisneyWorld with Jackie every 5 years for their anniversary.  He also loved talking about his time in the Navy and always had a “sea story” for anyone that asked.

Services will be Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington.  A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Charlie’s name to the Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 210 N. 25th Street, Reading, PA 19606.  Online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com
