Catherine Young

Catherine Florence (Shannon) Young, 84, died November 5th at Reading Hospital after a brief stay.
Born in New York City, Catherine moved with her husband to Bucks County in the 1950s and resided there for most of her life. She worked as a custodian for several offices and facilities, retiring from Central Bucks High School West in the 1990s.
Though not noted for her domestic skills, Catherine was a natural athlete and a bundle of energy. She enjoyed socializing and was recognized for her fine singing abilities at a day care program in which she participated regularly.
Catherine was pre-deceased by her husband, Thomas Edward Young Sr., and a daughter, Veronica. She is survived by her sons Thomas Edward "Ted" Young Jr. and Scott Michael Young, of Bucks County, and daughters Kathy Y. Demko, also of Bucks County, and Judy Y. Hennessey, of Spring Township. Catherine is also survived by a sister, Ethel "Terri" Kosanovich, of New York; a brother, Daniel Shannon, of Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A resident of Berks Heim, Catherine had lived until recently with her daughter Judy. She also resided with her son Ted for several years and with her daughter Kathy before that.
