Catherine Wentzel

Catherine F. Wentzel, 90, formerly of West Lawn, passed away July 25, 2009 at 1:25 PM in Columbia Cottage, Wyomissing where she resided for 4 years. She was the wife of Jacob S. Wentzel who passed away January 20, 2005. Born in Reading on July 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late George V. and Florence E. (Yoder) Noll.

Mrs. Wentzel was a 1937 graduate of Reading High School. She was employed in the office of Glidden Paint for 30 years retiring in 1984. She loved to fish and crab on the Chesapeake Bay. She also enjoyed cooking for and playing with her children, grandchildren and other relatives.

Surviving are 2 daughters Sharon C. (Wentzel) wife of Ned S. Currie of Sinking Spring, Cheryl L. (Wentzel) Stutzman of Sinking Spring, 5 grandchildren Lynne E. Currie-Borgen of Minocqua,WI, Elizabeth Currie-Dumitrascu of Chicago, Jesse G. Stutzman & Casey P. Stutzman of Chestertown, MD and Doug B. Wentzel of Reading and a great grandson Brandon Wentzel of Reading. Also cousins Yvonne, Susan and Paula Bouwhuis all in Ogden, Utah.

Mrs. Wentzel was predeceased by a son Barry J. Wentzel on August 10, 1996 and a granddaughter Kimberly J. Wentzel.
