Carolyn Catherine Long

Carolyn Catherine Long, 89, of Spring Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in the Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard K. Long Sr., who passed away in 1987. 

Born in Reading, on September 9, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Zatarack) Strunk. Carolyn was a graduate of Reading High School class of 1952. During her early years, she worked for CNA Insurance, until retiring in 1973. 

Carolyn enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, decorating her home for all holidays and visiting with friends and family, especially her beloved granddaughters.

Carolyn is predeceased by her stepdaughter, Candace Kasparities and sister, Sandra Strunk.

She is survived by her son, Douglas C. Long, husband of Katie B. Long, of Sinking Spring; stepdaughter, Jean Hall, widow of Greg Hall of Spring Township; stepson, Richard K. Long Jr., of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Caroline Long & Elizabeth Long; step-grandchildren, Jason & Adam Kasparities; Zachary & Kristen Hall; Joseph Long, Rebecca Isquierdo; & brother, Paul Strunk Jr., of Reading. 

A Graveside Service will be held at Sinking Spring Cemetery 42 N. Hull Street Sinking Spring, PA 19608 on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11:00am. Bean Funeral Homes, Sinking Spring, is in charge of arrangements.
