Carmel V. Alfiero, 86, of Cumru Township, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at 12:05 am in Mifflin Center. He was the husband of Gloria K. (Harner) Alfiero. Born in Stony Creek Mills, Mr. Alfiero was the son of the late Martin and Clara (Garipoli) Alfiero. He was a member of Church of Saint Benedict, Mohnton and was a Painter/Decorator for I. Losch Painting Contracting and was a member of International Union of Painters & Allied Trades District Council 21. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Alfiero loved boating and fishing along with his fish pond at his home in Millsboro, Delaware. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Lester S. Alfiero, husband of Elaine (Kowalczyk) Alfiero of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Carmel V. Alfiero, Jr., fiancAC. of Susan M. Itri of Pleasant Valley, New York. He is also survived by his brother Martin Alfiero, Jr., husband of Judy Alfiero of Schuylkill Haven and his sister Clara Hartline, wife of Dennis Hartline of Crestwood along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Francis Alfiero.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Church of Saint Benedict Memorial Fund 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540 in memory of Mr. Carmel V. Alfiero.
