Carlen R. Bordner, 91, of West Lawn, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the Reading Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn L. (Weitzel) Bordner, who shared 68 years of marriage.
Born in Strausstown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Adam C. Bordner and Esther C. (Potteiger). Carlen was a graduate of Wilson High School Class of 1947. He served the United States Marines, during the Korean War.
During his life he was a self-employed electrician owning CR Bordner Electric. Carlen still consulted until his last years. He was also a member of Advent Lutheran Church in West Lawn. Carlen loved Frank Sinatra, airplanes, red tractors, spending time with his family and was a history buff. He loved to laugh and he had an adventurous spirit.
In addition to his wife Evelyn L. (Weitzel) Bordner, he is survived by his son, Darrell L. Bordner, husband of Connie, of Mohrsville; daughter, Ellen L. Phillips, wife of Roger, of South Heidelberg Township; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce Snyder, of Ephrata; and Dawn Reddy of Bethel.
Memorial service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608 on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 7:00pm. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
