Bryon Leiby

Bryon L. Leiby, 73, stepson of Anthony Delewski passed away on October 4, 2017 at the Reading Hospital. Born in Reading on February 20, 1944. Bryon was married for 55 years to his beloved wife Nancy (Focht) on August 6, 1962. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. Herb, wife of Kevin Herb; and Melissa M. Knockstead, wife of James Knockstead; 5 grandchildren, Lauren Koslow, wife of Jason; Justin Herb; Megan, wife of Austin Rogers; Courtney Funk; and Thomas Herb. Bryon was looking forward to the birth of their first great granddaughter, child of Austin & Megan Rogers. During his life he worked as a musical instrumental technician as a brass polisher at Zeswitz Music Store for 28 years. He also worked as a store detective at Boscov's and he retired in 2008 from the Reading School District as a Supply Manager. Bryon was found of his family and had a great passion for music. He also loved his little dog "Layla" also called Honey girl (a name he called his daughters & granddaughters). Bryon was an accomplished musician since Junior High School. His talent won him several music awards. He played the saxophone in various bands around town in his younger years. One of the bands was called the Showtimes and he remained longtime friends with members Al Lezzi and Mick Bujnovsky. During the 60's he played in a group that cut a record called "The Day you were Mine" and in the 90's he formed a Woodwind Ensemble called "Northeast Reading Woodwind Ensemble". He also used his god gifted talent to teach others on the clarinet, saxophone and guitar (including his daughters & grandchildren).Bryon was also a beloved member of Zions Lutheran Church in Shoemakersville.
The family would like to thank all those beautiful, loving, caring doctors and nurses at the Reading Hospital N 3rd Floor, South Building, you are Gods Angels and Pastor Bruce for his faithful love.
A private memorial service will be held at convenience of the family. Bryon suffered many years with health problems and now is at peace with the Lord. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Music Program of Zions Lutheran Church, 354 Zion Church Road Shoemakersville, Pa 19555, in memory of Bryon Leiby.
