Bruce Springer

November 1, 1926 — June 4, 2018

Bruce E. Springer, 91, of Pennside, passed away on June 4, 2018 at Berkshire Center.
He was the husband of Gloria D. (Ream) Springer, with whom he would have celebrated 68 years of marriage with on July 1, 2018.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Paul I. and Lillian I. (Bush) Springer.
Bruce was as US Navy Veteran, proudly serving his country during WWII. He went on to be employed for 40 A½ years for U.G.I. as a Divisions Store Supervisor. He also worked as the stage manager for the Reading Symphony Orchestra for 27 years. Bruce served as a lay minister for Olivet Presbyterian Church of Reading for several years. He was last a member of Pennside Presbyterian Church.
He was predeceased by his daughter: Karen L. Young and brother: Paul E. Springer.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children: Louanne E. Smith, companion of Dale Rudnick of Syracuse, NY and Kathy A. Christman of Robesonia. Also surviving are grandchildren: Michele L. McCoy, wife of Daniel of Wernersville and Rebecca M. Christman of Exeter, great-grandchildren: Noah C. and Savanah K. McCoy.
Funeral Services will be held at Bean Funeral Home, N.16 & Rockland Sts., Hampden Heights, on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9-10:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Reading Symphony Orchestra, 147 N.5th St., Suite 4, Reading, PA 19601 or Pennside Presbyterian Church, 253 N.25th St., Reading, PA 19606.
