Brian J. "Ten Men" Oplinger, 41, of Douglassville, died on Thursday, April 28 at home, surrounded by love after a strong and courageous 8-year battle with brain cancer.
He was the loving husband of Amanda B. (Guinther) Oplinger and father to young son, Hayden M. Oplinger, with whom he resided.
Brian was born November 14th, 1969, in Pottstown, PA. He was a 1987 graduate of Pottstown High School and a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Birdsboro. He was a dedicated employee at E.R. Stuebner for 20 years, starting as a carpenter and working his way up to superintendent.
Brian had a positive attitude, never letting his diagnosis get in the way of living his life. He inspired others with his fighting spirit. He enjoyed boating, cheering for the Eagles, and spending time with Amanda and Hayden at home.
Brian is survived by his mother, Patricia J. Oplinger; father, Jay Oplinger; adult daughter and son from a prior marriage, Brittany and Brian Oplinger; and two brothers, Jay and Kenneth Oplinger. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Amanda would like to thank family, friends, and Heartland Hospice for all the care, love and support they provided to Brian, Hayden and herself during Brian's illness.
