Brian W. Barnhardt, 91, of Reading, died peacefully at the hospital on Saturday, December 5, 2020 due to complications of COVID-19. Son of the late Deane and Elsie (Walker) Barnhardt; loving husband of the late Elizabeth (Sterling); proud father of four sons: Brian D. (Susan) Barnhardt of Fernandina Beach, Florida, David M. (Valerie) Barnhardt of Lakeland, Florida, Donald D. (Rayetta) Barnhardt of Oley, PA and Kevin S. (Pam) Barnhardt of Sinking Spring, PA; beloved Pop-Pop to 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother of Doris Bauer and the late Deane Barnhardt; also survived by many other relatives and friends. Brian was a lifelong resident of Reading, graduated from Reading High School, served in the Army during the Korean War, was a member of St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion and life member of the NRA. He retired as Store Supervisor at Acme Markets where he worked for 39 years and went on to work 9 more years as Frozen Food Manager for Redner’s Warehouse Markets. Brian’s family would like to thank Maidencreek Place and St. Joseph Medical Center for the loving care he received. Services and internment will be private.
