Brian Henry Arndt, 51, of South Heidelberg Township, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:15 am in Reading Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Wendy Lynn (Reed) Arndt. Born in Reading, Brian was the son of Abner and Linda(Warnick) Arndt of Fleetwood. He was a 1985 graduate of Fleetwood High School and PGA Business School in Florida and North Carolina and was a certified golf professional by the PGA Association. Brian was a golf professional for Galen Hall Country Club and Heidelberg Country Club and was an assistant professional at Moselem Springs Country Club. He worked at Flying Hills Golf Course as a member of the maintenance and grounds team and John's Landscaping, last working Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Brian was a member of Swamp Christian Fellowship Church in Reinholds. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to spend summer days at Pine Creek with his family and friends. He was a member of Cushion Peak Gun Club as well as other local rod & gun clubs. In early 2017 he overcame his long battle with alcohol addiction and was proudly within 3 weeks of his 1 year recovery anniversary. "Odie" was a great friend to many and had the ability to make everyone laugh with his good nature. The love of his life was his wife, children and grandchildren. Brian is also survived by his children Felicia Forsyth, wife of Timothy Forsyth of Denver, PA and Tyler Arndt, husband of Kelly Arndt of Wernersville and his grandchildren Hannah and Ryan Forsyth and Riley Arndt. Also surviving are his siblings Tracy Kreis, wife of Wilmer Kreis of Blandon and Diane Smith, wife of John Smith of Fleetwood.
Celebration of Life Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 6:30 pm. Pastor Craig Frazer will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory Wednesday 4:00-6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Retreat Premier Addiction Center1170 South State Street, Ephrata, PA 17522 in memory of Mr. Brain Henry Arndt.
