Beverly L. (nee Wirth) "Bevie" Barto, 60, of Flying Hills, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Saturday. Beverly fought a brave and courageous battle against her cancer for 6 years, and the paralysis caused by one of her treatments for the last year.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Wirth and Julia (Gorchufsky) Wirth.
She was the wife of Forrest W. "Kip" Barto.
She was a 1967 graduate of Holy Name High School, and also attended the Antonelli Medical and Professional Institute in Pottstown, where she received certification as a Medical Assistant.
She worked for the former General Public Utilities for 17 years, and last worked as a Medical Assistant for Muhlenberg Medical Associates until her illness forced her to retire in 2008.
She was an avid reader, reading everything in site, and loved making beautiful scrap books for family and friends, as well as beaded jewelry. She loved her bunny rabbits, and loved going to her condo in Hollywood, FL.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her twin sisters: Lana (Wirth) Horrigan of West Lawn, and Linda (Wirth) Jablosnki of Reading; sister: Carol (Wirth) Stasek of Reading; and a brother: Larry Wirth of Mechanicsburg.
There are also five nieces and nephews, as well as three grand nephews, including her godson, Luke.
In addition to her parents, she was pre deceased by a niece: Heather Horrigan.
