Betty Stroh

Betty J. Stroh, 88, formerly of Reading, passed away February 14, 2010 at 6:00 am in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center. She was taken to the hosptial from ManorCare-Spring Township where she was a resident for 1 1/2 years. She was the wife of the late Jospeh J. Stroh who passed away March 25, 1991. Born in Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Jennie A. (Dockey) Updegrove. She held various positions for Willson Safety Products in Reading for 22 years retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola RCC and was a former two term vice president for Grill Fire Company and was a trustee. She was a Loving Mother to Barbara A. wife of Jack Crawford of Reading and Elaine M. wife of Thomas H. Hibbard with whom she last resided. She was a Loving Grandmother and Great Grandmother to 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Pauline Pennypacker a resident at Berks Heim and was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.
