Betty Hirt

Betty J. Hirt, 85, of Wernersville, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away Monday, March 2nd at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Sunday. She previously resided at Phoebe Berks in Wernersville since 2002.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John A. Hunter and Bessie M. (Yaste) Hunter, and widow of Robert J. Hirt, who passed away on July 20, 2004.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C.C. in Sinking Spring. She served as Secretary on the Board of Directors of Prospectus Berco in Reading.

She is survived by her sons: James E., husband of Ellen Hirt of Plainsboro, NJ, Robert M. of Sinking Spring; daughter: Marsha A. (Hirt), wife of H. John Geis of New Bern, NC.

There are also four grandchildren: Kenneth, Susan, Ted, and Austin, and five great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother: John A. Hunter of Karns City, PA.
