Betty Jean Greth, 90, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 8:10 am in Reading Hospital. She was taken to the hospital from Berks Heim where she was a resident. Mrs. Greth was the wife of the late Melvin B. Greth, Sr. who passed away April 10, 2005. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Ruth O. (McCracken) McCausland. She was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School in Washington, Indiana and was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ. Mrs. Greth was a waitress at the Wyomissing Club for 20 years and Goodwill Beneficial Association for 15 years. She was past president and treasurer of the Tuckerton 50+ Senior Citizens. She is survived by her children Melvin B. Greth, Jr. husband of Bettie A. Greth of Memphis, Tennessee; Donald E. Greth, husband of DiAnn L. Greth of Muhlenberg Township; Leonard O. Greth, husband of Mary Ellen B. Greth of Wyomissing; Robert A. Greth, husband of Sandra L. Greth of Romulus, Michigan and Diana M.R. Sharman, wife of the late H. Robert Sharman, Jr. of Spring Township along with her 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:30 am. Reverend Dr. Robert A. Stewart will officiate. Interment will follow in St. John's(Hain's) Church Cemetery, Wernersville. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday 9:30-10:30 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Good Shepherd United Church of Christ Memorial Fund 170 Tuckerton Road, Reading, PA 19605 in memory of Mrs. Betty Jean Greth.
