Bernard M. Ballick, Jr., 61, of Spring Township, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 after a 2A½ year battle with brain cancer. Born in Hazelton, PA on June 22, 1956, Bernie was the son of Marjorie (Brehm) Ballick and the late Bernard Ballick, Sr. of Exton. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen E. (Schappell) Ballick of Wyomissing, brothers, Kevin Ballick of Exton and Rick Ballick of New York City, and nephews, Kevin and Ethan Ballick. Bernie was also a wonderful step-father to the late Brandon Harbach. He worked as an instructor at Berks Technical Institute for many years, and was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.
Bernie loved listening to music of all kinds, and was particularly fond of classic rock, especially Queen. He had a life-long love of learning, was a big history fan, and always enjoyed a good political debate. He enjoyed watching NFL football, especially his beloved Eagles. Bernie was a wonderful husband, son, father, and friend, and he will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at West Lawn United Methodist Church, Penn & Woodside Aves., West Lawn on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 am. Pastors Jeffrey Raffauf and Andrea Haldeman will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends at West Lawn United Methodist Church from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West Lawn United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 15 Woodside Ave. West Lawn, PA 19609 in memory of Bernard M.
