Barbara Stein

Barbara G. Stein, 91, of Reading, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 5:50 pm at Manor Care Health Services, Laureldale.  She was the wife of the late Jack Loeb Stein who passed away September 2, 1972.  Born in New York, Mrs. Stein was the daughter of the late Maurice and Jeanne (Liss) Gumpel.  She was a member and first woman president and lifetime trustee of Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom.  Mrs. Stein was a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker in Reading until her retirement.  She held many previous positions including ones at House Beautiful magazine, The Today Show and in Reading at Pace Institute.  Mrs. Stein is survived by her son Kenneth M. Stein, husband of Robert J. Reilly of Brooklyn, New York and was preceded in death by her brother Morton Gumpel.

Funeral Service will be held at Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, 555 Warwick Drive, Wyomissing, Friday, December 10, 2021 at 12:00 pm.  Rabbi Brian I. Michelson will officiate.  Interment will follow at Mt.
