Augustus Kochel

Augustus S. Kochel, 86, formerly of Alsace Twp., passed away May 15, 2009 at 9:52 PM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where he was a patient for one week. Mr. Kochel was a resident at The Lutheran Home at Topton since July 16, 2007. He was the husband of Mildred E. (Kachel) Kochel who passed away January 18, 2008. Born in Gibraltar on August 15, 1922, he was the son of the late William F. and Alice C. (Snyder) Kochel.

Augustus was a crane operator for CarTech Corp. for 20 years retiring in 1987. He was a member of Zion Spies Lutheran Church and served as a member of the Alsace Manor Fire Police.

Surviving are 2 sons Randy Kochel husband of Victoria Kochel of Spring Twp. and Barry Kochel husband of Beverly Kochel of Columbia, SC, 4 grandchildren Steven, Scott, Beth and Melissa , 5 great grandchildren Kyle, Jaxon, Madilyn, Anna and Ian and a sister Freda (Kochel) Norman in Georgia.
