Annetta Gajewski

Annetta M. Gajewski, 91, of Cumru Township, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was the wife of the late Edmund J. Gajewski who passed away July 15, 2006.  Born in Reading (Hyde Park), Pennsylvania, Annetta was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Kugler) Wentzel.  She was a member of Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.  Annetta is survived by her daughters Kathy A. Readinger (Robert) of Exeter Township; Sharon H. Leuchak (Nicholas) of Minden, Nevada; Donna M. Waldman (Peter) of Exeter Township; Joette E. Lakis (Rollin) of Los Alamos, New Mexico and her grandchildren Amanda Readinger, Jenna Ricks, Isabelle Lakis, Allison Lakis; her great grandchildren Tyler, Lea, Cameron and Alicia.  Annetta was preceded in death by her grandchildren Jonathan M. Leuchak and Rebecca Leuchak and her brothers H. Gordon and Frederick Wentzel.

Mom loved cooking and baking, all the preparations for Thanksgiving made it her favorite holiday. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, beaches were their favorite. Her nurturing nature went beyond her own children as she provided child care to so many. Grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her hobby of knitting was a source of many treasures for family and friends. She knitted more than 3600 hats for newborn charity.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church at the convenience of the family.  Reverend Edward J. Essig, Celebrant.
