Anne Mckinney

Anne E. McKinney, 81, of Wyomissing Hills, passed away July 22, 2009 at 1:58 PM in her residence. She was the wife of William E. McKinney who passed away November 3, 2002. Born in Philadelphia on March 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William M. Umsted Jr. and the late Rebecca F. (Burrowes) Umsted.

Mrs. McKinney attended Temple University, Philadelphia and was graduated from Taylor Business College, Philadelphia. She last worked for 23 years in the Metallurgical Department of Carpenter Technology Corporation, retiring in 1992. Affiliated with the Reading Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Iota Sorority, Reading Club - International Training in Communication, Alumnae Association of Philadelphia High School for Girls, Elk River Yacht Club and Valley Forge Historical Society. She was a past member of the Post Office Advisory Council and Berks County Meals on Wheels She was an active member of the Historical Society of Berks County, the Food Bank in Shillington and St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Sinking Spring.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews in Minnesota and California and a sister in law in Indiana.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Alban's Episcopal Church Building Fund, 2848 St. Alban's Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608 in the name of Anne McKinney.
