Anne Burd

Anne L. Burd, 72, of Shoemakersville, Perry Township, passed away May 31, 2016 in Penn State Health-St. Joseph Medical Center.
She was the wife of Harry Alan Burd; they celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on May 12th.
Born in Reading, she was the youngest daughter of the late Clarence Miller and Dorothy (Baur) Misdorf.
Anne was employed at Wernersville State Hospital as a psychiatric aide for over 10 years.
Surviving in addition to her husband Harry are her children Thomas C. Freese, husband of Karen, Shoemakersville; Cheryl "Sherry" A. Edelman (Freese), wife of Steve, Harrisburg; Michael J. Freese, husband of Pattie, Pensacola, FL; Alan A. Burd at home; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Joyce E. Gable, Flying Hills and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her eldest sister Marion F. Richards and grandson Steven S. Edelman.
Anne loved animals and reading but most importantly spending time with her family. She was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) Church, Leesport for many years.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Anne's memory to the Autism Society of America, 4340 East West Hwy Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814 and/or Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540.

Services will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 129 East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery- Shillington. The family will receive relatives and friends 10:00-11:00am.
