Anna I. Chase, 93, of Sinking Spring and Hollywood, FL passed away on February 5, 2017 at Country Meadows of Wyomissing.
Born in Reading on September 4, 1923, a daughter of the late Harvey and Marguerite (Heffner) Hollenbach.
Anna was predeceased by her husband, Calvin Chase. She is survived by her companion Leo R. Koehler.
She was a health and physical education teacher at Wilson School District and Oley Valley School District for 35 years. During her teaching career, Anna coached many girls sports which included an undefeated track team in 1976. She was in charge of the Berks County and District III girls golf for many years. Anna also headed the Wilson/Sinking Spring Alumni Assc. Golf tournament for 15 years. One of her accomplishments was achieving a hole in one at age 81.
In addition to coaching, Anna was a member of the Berks County Track and Field Officials Assc. for over 40 years. She is a member of the Wilson High School Hall of Fame. Anna was an avid dog lover, always having a dog by her side most of her life. She was the proud owner of Duff, Tyke, Lady, Skeet, and Buff.
Anna was a huge football fan. She cheered the Wilson Bulldogs and Penn State Nittany Lions onto many victories.
Funeral Services will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10:30AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30-10:30PM. Interment will follow the service at Laureldale Cemetery.
