Andrew Markowski

Andrew E. Markowski, 87, of Cumru Twp., passed away on July 3, 2018 at his residence.
He was the widower of Ruth A. (Myers) Markowski, who passed away on November 27, 2009.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Mildred M. (Hricik) Markowski.
Andrew was a US Army Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict, 65th Combat Engineers, from 1952-1954. He was employed for 30 years by Charles F. Luppold and Son as a sheet metal Worker, Local 19. He was a member of SS Cyril and & Methodius Roman Catholic Church of Reading.
Andy was married 58 years to the love of his life, Ruth. He was a very hard-working and loving family man. He enjoyed his daily lunches, Saturday morning breakfasts and talking with friends at the Ranch House Restaurant. He also looked forward to his weekly Friday lunches at Red Lobster with very special staff friends that treated "Mr. Andy," as he was known there, like royalty. He shared his kindness every Christmas by making up little Christmas Packages of Andes mint candies and handing them out to everyone as he said "Andes candies from Andy."
In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his brothers: George R. and John E. and sister: Genevieve.
Surviving are daughters: Deborah L. (Markowski) Yeager, wife of Jeffrey E. of Muhl. Twp. and Christine A. (Markowski) Forrer of West Lawn and son: David E. Markowski of Shillington. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be private.
