Amelia Kaplan, 102, of Shillington, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Kaplan, who passed away in July of 1985.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria (Enrico) Novelli. Amelia was a graduate of Reading High School Class of 1938. She enjoyed sewing, family dinners and crossword puzzles. Amelia had a talent in altering and making her own clothing.
She is survived by her daughter Doris J. Pietrowski, wife of Joseph M. Pietrowski, of Kenhorst; granddaughter, Natalie A. Roslin, wife of Joseph D. Roslin, of Shillington; great-grandchildren, Alec, Joey, and Charlie; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Amelia was predeceased by her granddaughter Nicole C. Ervin, who passed away on October 27, 2014; brother, Frank Novelli; sisters, Letizia “Lizzie” Spadaro; Filomena “Mamie” DeCamillo; Grace Carabello; and Rose Carroll.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Heritage of Green Hills for going above and beyond in Amelia’s care.
