Alice Cutts

Alice M. Cutts, 87, of Wyomissing, PA passed away on September 7, 2022.

She was the wife of Fred M. Cutts who passed away on June 14, 2022.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the only daughter of the late Eric McLeod and Opal Megginson.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah Elaine who passed away July 2, 1967.

Alice was a graduate of Thomasville (Alabama) High School, attended Judson College in Marion, Alabama and graduated with a degree in Home Economics from Auburn University.  She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.

Alice was a talented seamstress and performed alterations from her home. She loved knitting, quilting, counted cross stitch and crewel. She made many prayer shawls with her church knitting club to be given to those who returned home from being hospitalized. She had a caring giving nature and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Alice was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church where she was active in the Caring Community Visitation Program.  She was also regularly in attendance in the Church’s Bible Study Programs. She was a woman with strong faith.

She is survived by her daughter Alison C., wife of Andrew Lacey, Gambrills, Maryland;  two grandchildren Bradley A. Sr. , husband of Francesca, Northfield, New Jersey;  Brianne L.,  wife of John Fazio, Catonsville, Maryland and 3 great grandchildren – Emma, Bradley Jr. and Jack.

The family would like to thank the wonderful supportive staff of Columbia Cottage who cared for her since she became a resident in February.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:00 am in West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Avenue, Reading.  Pastor Terry Cooney to officiate.  The family will receive friends and relatives at West Lawn United Methodist Church on Monday, September 19th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.  Interment will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Avenue, Reading, PA 19609 in honor of Mrs. Alice Cutts.  Bean Funeral Homes, Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
