Alan M. Hiester

With heavy hearts we say goodbye to Alan M. Hiester, 57, of Kenhorst. Alan passed away peacefully Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:34 am in his residence surrounded by his loving family after a 22 month fight with pancreatic cancer. He was the devoted husband of Lori A. (Freeman) Hiester for 37 years. Born in Reading, Alan was the son of Larry Hiester of Ocala, Florida and Barbara (Sperber) Zillhardt of Reading. He was a 1985 graduate of Wilson High School. Alan was an avid bowler achieving 29 perfect games in his lifetime traveling to several state and national tournaments. Alan loved spending time with family and friends and was always available to help anyone who needed it. He loved spending time on his boat at his favorite fishing spot in Vermont with his buddies, Jim and Tim. Alan was an electrician for 39 years opening his own business, Hiester Electric LLC, in 2018 with his son Zachary. Alan created a legacy to be passed down for generations.

 In addition to his wife, Alan is survived by his sons Michael A. Hiester husband of Kayla Hiester of Wernersville; Zachary W. Hiester loving companion of Brittney Horn of Muhlenberg Township; and his newest pride and joy, granddaughter Madilyn K. Hiester and his siblings Scott Hiester husband of Kim Hiester of Reading and Dennis Hiester husband of Kathleen Hiester of Reading. He is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.
