Adeline Hartman

Adeline "Alby" Hartman, 95 of Mays Landing NJ, formerly of Shillington, passed away on April 20, 2017, in Linwood Care Center, Linwood, NJ. She was the wife of the late William "Don" Hartman who passed away on December 9, 1989. Mr. Hartman was locally known as "Mr. Turtle Man". Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Blanche (Smolen) Springer. Adeline was a member of St Marks UCC in Reading. She was a retired sewing machine operator for various mills in Reading. Adeline was also a former member of the Reading Choral Society and the Reading Chapter of the Sweet Adelines. In addition to her husband she is predeceased by her daughter Susan M. Stroffolino, who passed away on May 13, 1992; and 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
Surviving is her son, Donald A. husband of Joanne (Whitehead), of Mays Landing, NJ; sister, Florence (Springer) Szmurlo, of Essex, MD.; grandchildren, Christopher Stroffolino; Maria Stroffolino; Laura Stroffolino (Joe Durrance); Daniel Hartman (Anne); Amy Hartman; Jeremy Hartman (Erica); along with three great grandchildren, Kyle and Cameron Hartman, and Lilia Durrance.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes, 129 E. Lancaster Ave. Shillington, PA, on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11:00am. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, 10:00am-11:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Bean Funeral Homes, Shillington is in charge of arrangements.
