Dr. A Rab Chowdhury, 76, of Wyomissing, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 shortly after 3:00 am at Reading Hospital with his children by his side. He was the beloved husband to Rameeza Chowdhury and devoted father to Imran Chowdhury and Jasmine Chowdhury.
Dr. Chowdhury immigrated to America from Bangladesh in 1968 to finish his education in medicine. He was a self-employed, board certified physician who practiced Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the greater Berks County area for 30 years until his retirement. Dr. Chowdhury was also a founding father of the Islamic community in Berks County. He helped establish two mosques in the Reading area.
Dr. Chowdhury was best known for his continued passion for learning and generous charitable contributions. Per Dr. Chowdhury's wishes, prayer services were held and he was laid to rest within hours of passing by Bean Funeral Home, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights.
