Leon Himmelberger, 91, of Reading, passed away May 1, 2012 at 8:30 am in Arden Courts, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Fern M. (Potteiger) Himmelberger who passed away February 7, 2006. Born in Tulpehocken Township, he was the son of the late Curtis and Stella M. (Henne) Himmelberger. Mr. Himmelberger was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Glenside and served in the United States Army Air Corp as a Sergeant during World War II. He was the owner of Himmelberger Portrait Studios for 42 years, retiring in 1990 and was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge in Hamburg. Mr. Himmelberger is survived by his sons, Cory P. Himmelberger husband of Nancy L. Himmelberger of Reading, Lyn M. Himmelberger husband of Melanie G. Himmelberger of Allentown and Kerry L. Himmelberger husband of Beverly C. Himmelberger of Birdsboro. He was preceded in death by his son Kim L. Himmelberger in 1953. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Faye Mutschler widow of Frank Mutschler of Pine Grove. Mr. Himmelberger was preceded in death by his siblings E. Russell, Myles, Curtis and Glenn Himmelberger, Ella Stambaugh, Mildred Potteiger, Fern Barner.
