Our most sincere condolences to the family. Leah (and Don) were exceptionsl folks. They were an asset to the neighborhood and community as well.
I feel fortunate to have known them and their family growing up in the neighborhood. They were very caring kind people.
We loved raising our kids on Moss St.in later years and the Shue's were knowk as the go to safe house if the kids had an emergency.
I remember when we warned the boys about "flying out from the LITTLE ALLEY onto Clover St.) Many cars used it to shortcut and they zoomed down that street once it was nicely paved.
Our oldest, typical boy, diid just what we warned DO NOT and racing the "DINKY" rode out into Clover st just as a car was driving up.
It was a true blessing that it was Mrs. Shue and that she ALWAYS drove 5 mph or less up the street knowing how the kids ran out without watching!
Donnie hit the car and was knocked off his bike. Mrs Shue was soo disdraught.
He fortunately learned a lesson with a scuffed knee. HE WAS AT FAULT, had it not been Mrs Shue he would have been killed, NO Doubt. It is one example of the kind of woman she was.
The shue's were a gift in the life of many people. The members of their family I knew were just like them. All Good caring folks.
Leah & Don were one of the gems in life. They certainly had an impact on my life. We loved them dearly. I have no doubt they are in a good place and I am thankful to have known them.
Dennise,Lisa & Chris, I know she was proud of you and your mannerism and good nature is so SHUE! They had reason to be proud.
Sorry we were away when she passed. We loved her and have very fond memories of the whole family!
One of the many blessings in life that some people just never see!
Most Sincerely
Pat & Don Hillbish

Can't think of anything that better explains your Mother (and your Father) than the Peace Prayer of St. Francis:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love, where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood, as to understand, to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we ae pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
As I have told you many times before, your Mother and Dad had a great impact on my childhood (together with all the Kaffee Klutch!!). Much love and Many Hugs for you all.

To Dennise and Mary, It's sad we all can't live for centuries but I went to see Theresa Caputo at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center recently. She believes the deceased are still present for all our joys and sorrows long after they passed on. i feel she's right. Theres a life hereafter. With much sympathy from your friend, Russell

Dennise I am sorry to read about your loss. I have fond memories of your mother and being in your house. It is a long time ago and I lost contact with the St. Luke's gang. I was saddened by reading of the loss of your brother. Give my condolences to Joanne. At a later time you can e-mail me at ptrout@epix.net
