Name: Lester J. Zaugg Dates: Birth date: January 27, 1924 Death date: January 27, 2010 Obituary: Lester J. Zaugg, 86, of Wyomissing, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 2:10 a.m. at the skilled nursing unit at the Highlands of Wyomissing, where he had been a patient for two weeks. Born in Iona, South Dakota, he was the son of the late Gottlieb Zaugg and Maude (Felton) Zaugg. He was the husband of Doris (Blain) Zaugg. The couple shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. He was in the United States Air Force for twenty two years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He later worked as a Clerk for twenty years with the United States Postal Service. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters: Josephine D. Makoul of Havertown, PA and Lesley "Kim" Zaugg, wife of Alan Vayda of Canton, MI; and a son: John M., husband of Michelle Zaugg of Keller, Texas. There are also eight grandchildren, including Sarah Reedy of Wyomissing, and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister: Iona (Miller) Newby of California. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. Memorial Fund, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Service: Services will be at the convenience of the family. Cemetery: Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. |
