Name: Ray E. Scheffler Dates: Birth date: January 11, 1934 Death date: July 18, 2012 Obituary: Ray E. Scheffler, 78, of St. Lawrence, passed away July 18, 2012 in his residence. He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Aiello) Chesser Scheffler. Born in Randsburg, CA on January 11, 1934, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Rose M. (Cress) Scheffler. Mr. Scheffler served in the US Air Force for 20 years and 5 months attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He later worked as a tractor trailer driver for Lentz Milling for 20 years retiring in 1993. After retiring, Ray enjoyed RVing, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, sports and wintering in Deland, FL. Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son Mitchel Scheffler and two daughters Denise L. (Scheffler) Rapp and Kim M. Scheffler all of Virginia Beach, VA; two step sons Mark E. Chesser, husband of Susan P. Chesser of Fleetwood and Richard C. Chesser, husband of Judy Chesser of Eugene, OR and a step daughter Carla J. (Chesser) Matz of Reading; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605. Visitation: Friends and relatives will be received Monday 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Service: Memorial Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Twp. Rev. Eugene P. Ritz will officiate. Cemetery: Interment will be Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. |
