Campbell, 99, formerly of Reading, passed away July 7, 2012 in Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center where he resided since April 25, 2011. He was the husband of Thelma L. (Eberhart) Campbell who passed away January 8, 2010. The couple shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Kearney, Hudson County, NJ on June 11, 1913, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Campbell and the late Louise M. (Levenson) Campbell. Richard served in the US Army during World War 2, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was the President and owner of Campbell Kautter Associates in Reading and Fleetwood for 25 years retiring in 1981. Surviving are a son Roger D. Campbell, husband of Christine M. Campbell of Wilmington, DE and two granddaughters Rev. Lynn M. Campbell of Needham, MA and Beth (Campbell) Murphy wife of Eric Murphy of Basking Ridge, NJ. He was a member of Schwarzwald Lutheran Church. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church at the address below. Visitation: Friends and relatives will be received Friday 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the church. Service: Services will be Friday at 12:00 PM in Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, 250 Church Lane Road, Reading, PA 19606. Rev. John D. Miller, Rev Amy J. Godshall-Miller and Rev. Lynn M. Campbell will officiate. Cemetery: Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. |
