Mabel Weber Chamberlin Jankowski

Mabel Weber Chamberlin Jankowski passed away on May 22, 2012 at the age 98 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA, where she had resided since 2005. She was the wife of Edward Jankowski, who currently resides at the Masonic Villages.

The daughter of Benjamin Weber and Kate Miller, Mabel was born on March 21, 1914, and grew up in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Ephrata High School and Lebanon Valley College. She was married to Dr. George V. Derickson and resided in Womelsdorf, PA for many years, before moving to Mt. Dora, Florida. She returned to Berks County after the passing of her husband. She married Edward Jankowski in 1972, residing in Reading until moving to the Masonic Villages.

Mabel was an active member of the community all of her life. She was a Worthy Matron of the Conrad Weiser Chapter of Eastern Star. She achieved her certification as a National Flower Show Judge and was active in the state and local chapters of the Gardening Club for more than 20 years. Mabel was active in the Literacy Council of Reading/Berks, touching the lives of many by teaching them to read. Mable was also a volunteer at the Berks County Heritage Center , and was a familiar face at the store at the Wagon Works.

Mabel Jankowski is survived by her daughter, Joanna Wagner of Bern Township and her grandsons, Dr. Boyd Wagner, husband of Tracy Schott-Wagner, also of Bern Township, and Todd Wagner, husband of Kathy Wagner, of Blue Bell, PA, and granddaughter, Lynn Codi, wife Joe Codi, of of Cumru Township. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Ben Codi of Hoboken, NJ, Tyler Codi of Parkersburg, PA, Boyd (Bo) Wagner IV and Ian Wagner, both of Bern Township. Mabel also had one great great-grandchild, Logan Codi. She is also survived by her half-sister, Isabel Simon, of Bradenton, FL, and nephew, Daniel Weber Conroy of Michigan.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Masonic home at Elizabethtown 600 freemasons drive, Elizabethtown, pa 17022 in memory of mrs. Mabel c. jankowski.

Visitation:
The family will receive friends Saturday 10:30-11:00 am.

Service:
Memorial service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Saturday,May 26, 2012 at 11:00 am.

Cemetery:
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
